Complete Exhibitions attains Level One B-BBEE compliance

Category: Service Provider
Province: Gauteng
Publish date: 27 July 2010

Over the last 12 months Complete Exhibitions has actively taken the relevant steps to become a fully B-BBEE compliant business.

Company director, Nigel Walker says: “After fully understanding and evaluating the potential impact of B-BBEE on our business and our clients, we realised the value and learning opportunities available. With this said, we have carefully ensured that  pertinent aspects of our business, being employment equity, preferential procurement, skills development and socio-economic development, have been managed and implemented so that we are in good stead in terms of our B-BBEE representation.

A good B-BBEE score is calculated across the seven elements of BEE and does not only rely on narrow-based black ownership, as many people tend to think. Ownership does make a difference, but that is only one of the components considered when calculating your scorecard. There are another six elements that play an equal role in attaining a good score for a scorecard. As a qualifying small enterprise (QSE) you are scored in the top four of the seven criteria.”

Using the QSE scorecard, Complete Exhibitions has recently been verified as a Level One contributor.

Walker adds, “The importance of this to our clients is that the value of any contract awarded to Complete Exhibitions can be multiplied by 135% on their own scorecard under the preferential procurement component.”

While Complete Exhibitions maintains a focus on price, quality, reliability and customer focus, factors such as its B-BBEE score and environmental responsibility adds to its credibility and responsibility, not only to its clients but also the greater community.
